From Echoes

What is Echoes?

The ECHOES project (Encouraging Companionship, Home Organization, and Entertainment in Seniors), is a project focused on understanding and improving aspects of companionship in senior populations aged sixty-five years and older. This project orginated from a student design competition (http://www.chi2005.org/program/prog_student.html) held by the Computer-Human Interaction (CHI) conference in 2005. We've done a small flash movie to give an example of the variety of roles a companion plays in the life of another. You can see it here (http://design.informatics.indiana.edu/echoes/movies/pre/edit3.swf).

What is the Purpose of This Site?

We have collected an immense amount of data generated from or related to this project. We are offering it here as an addendum to our student competition conference publication, available in the ACM Digital Library (http://doi.acm.org/10.1145/1056808.1057104).

Who is Echoes?

The ECHOES Team comes from the School of Informatics (http://www.informatics.indiana.edu/) at Indiana University Bloomington (http://www.iub.edu).
